We would like to give our condolences to Neal's family and friends. It is so sad to hear that his life was taken so soon. Neal went to EMT school with Shaun and he used to come visit at Metro too. We will both miss him dearly. Neal was an awesome guy who would have done anything for anybody. He was a very kind and considerate person who always liked to help someone in need. May Neal rest in peace and remember everyone here who loved and cared about him as he shines down on us from heaven.

Words can't express how truly sorry I am for Neale's family and friends. I know I don't speak for myself when I say Neale was by far, one of the most incredible, intelligent, kind, and friendliest people you will ever meet. Though he had to go so soon, I believe he had a significantly great impact on every person's life that he encountered. He will be missed my many and forgotten by none. Miss ya bud!

I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the Mechanicsville VFD once again for the loss of another brother. Again you have felt the pain as you have in the past and I want you to know that I am there for you in anything needed. I knew Neale and enjoyed the early mornings we spent together in the duck blind with the rest of our gang. Neale will be missed very much and we must remember the good times we spent with him in his short lived time with us. May he rest in peace.

My heart goes out to the Slater Family. I got to know Neale through my family members and he was such a sweet person. Also, would enjoy seeing he's smiley face when he dropped his laundry off at the local laundry mat in Charlotte Hall. I enjoyed talking to him and we always talked about he's career being a State Police officer. I know that he loved helping the community and being a Fire Fighter. He will be missed by all of us.

I only had the pleasure of knowing Neale for a short time but he is someone I know will be deeply missed. I remember the first time i met him...I went to a party at his house with a fellow Maryland State Cadet and even though i had never met him before, he welcomed me and after about 15 min. i felt like i knew him my whole life. Then after that, i began seeing him every so often when he and some of the other MVFD boys would come by the house to go fishing and help control the many brush fires my father has decided to burn! He is someone who will be deeply missed by all.

Stacey--I know we haven't talked since probably early high school but if you need anything I'm here for you.

My deepest sympathy for his parents and his family at MVFD and MVRS

May you rest in peace Neale.

We where neighbors with the Slater's when they lived on New Market Turner Road. My daughter Brandy and Neale played together all the time. He would come pick her up on his go cart. Neale was a gentlemen even at the age of 10. My daughter Brandy is a member of the Benedict Fire Department and because of that was able to be reunited with Neale at different functions with the fire departments and personally. Our family is grief striction by this tradegy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Slater family. Neale will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

I went to Leonard Hall with Neale. He was one of the first people I met there and he really made a great impression on me. He made me enjoy Leonard Hall and showed me the ropes of leadership. He was a great friend as well. Neale was and always will be a great role model. I've known him for several years and will miss him dearly. Neale touched everyone's lives and he always had a good and loving heart. Neale was an amazing person who has affected everyone. I send my sympathy to his parents. Rest in peace Neale, we all love you.

First and formost we would like to give our upmost sympathy for neale's family and friends. Though myself I have not been around neale in a few years I can still remember how great of a friend he was, As I have read through these letters from friends and it is obvious he is a wonderful person all around. I Myself can remember running around in his back yard playing "TAG" at one of his birthday party's long ago, Remembering how much fun we had as kids, gosh, that must have been 8 years ago, pretty much after middle school i (carie) lost touch w/ him As he moved along to Leonard hall naval academy and we went on to margaret brent M.S, though amanda and cindy would see him often at the resturant they work at. they would also say the same, " he's a great person" and will be missed very very much!.
We will forever keep him in our hearts and prayer's

You are already missed my lil brother. I cant describe what an impact you have made on my life as well as many other. When someone needed help or anything, you were there giving it all you had. Those cold fall and winter mornings, late night card games, sunday skeet shooting, or just plain goofing off. Who is going to keep Dopey, Shane, and Clark straight in the blind now. I cant even believe your not going to be there. Rest with god my friend.

Your big brother,
Pettit
