I hope that all friends of the Slater family will give them love and comfort . It is an unfathomable thing to lose a child, and one can only say that God had a plan for Neale we can't comprehend.

May all the memories of all the yesterdays give strength to the family to go on to all the tomorrow's.

I just want to give my condolences to the Slater family,friends,and fire department.Though I didnt know Neale but all the stories I have heard tell me he was a very good guy and loved doing what he did. My heart is with the family and friends and everyone else during this period of time. I hope he watches over everyone that knew and loved him. It's hard to lose someone so young that had a good life going for them. I would like to know why God has to take all the good ones. Well God Bless everyone and Neale R.I.P and watch over everyone.

I just want to give my condolences to the Slater family and friends. I met Neale through John Allen, and little did I know that he has been a neighbor of mine since the 9th grade. He is such a great person to be around, and can always bring a smile upon your face. He is one of those people that even if he is upset, all he cares about is that your ok. I Love You Neale and I hope your looking down on all of us, as we are always looking up on you!

I had the pleasure of meeting Neale through my boyfriend, who is also a cadet. I had known him for a short time, but he was so welcoming and accepting of anyone. He will be in the hearts of everyone who knew him. I send my condolences to the Slater family. Neale may you rest in peace.

Neale's father was the CEO of Tideland EMC here in North Carolina where I work. Neale was a very special person and was special to anyone who knew him. He was such a smart kid who we all knew would go far. My sympathy goes out to all who knew him and feel the loss of a friend and co-worker and especially to his mom and dad. You will be in our prayers.

I didnt really know Neale that well but I know that he was a great person. He would always be there for you and help you out when every you needed it. I met Neale through people at L.Hall in everyone loved him with all their heart. I sorry to see that he is gone but no matter what everyone will always love him.

I went to leonard hall with neale and he was like my big brother that i never had, when my parents told me the news about what had happened it was like a thousand knives peircing my heart, i have never felt a gretter pain than that. Neale was someone who was always there for me when i needed someone to talk to and its going to be hard to let him go.he will always be my neale pooh, we all miss you and love you greatly

It would be really hard to find a more respectful and polite young man then Neale. Being a member of the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Dept. our paths crossed many times on calls. Here more recently since he joined the Maryland State Police Cadet program, it was the WaWa in Charlotte Hall first thing in the morning, or the numerous times we saw each other on the roadways to Upper Marlboro on our way to our jobs. It was always Good Morning or a Hello Mr. Bagley and always with a smile. As someone as already mentioned "God always takes the good ones first" their is no doubt in my mind that this is the case here. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

I consider myself blessed to have known Neale. He was a wonderful person with an incredible spirit. The loss of such a caring and compassionate individual will be felt by myself and the community for a long time.

I still can't get over the news I heard Monday afternoon. Neale was a great friend that I know we will never forget. I met Neale back in '02 when during the little "party" phase we went through down in ole Hollywood. He was just one of those people you meet 1 time and it's like you've known him for years! To all of you up in Mechanicsville, I just wanted to say I'm so sorry for your loss. If any of you need anything, just give me a call. Neale, I'll never forget ya hun... you were 1 of a kind and I'm so glad I got the chance to know you for the short period of time that i did know you. Neale was a great person and a great friend. It's a shame that the good ones are taken from us all to soon...all to often. To a guy who was on the right path and doing so well for himself & for others.....RIP my friend.

We at the Charles County Mobile Intensive Care Unit (CCMICU) send our condolences after hearing about the passing of EMT-B Neale Slater. He was an active member of the CCMICU until about a year ago when he went inactive to pursue his interest in the Maryland State Police. Once thru the academy he had planned on returning to active service with the unit. We will truely miss him and his dedication to the community. His family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.

We had the great experience of meating neale throught school and he had a huge impact on everyone at leonard hall. he was a great leader for all of us there, and he did a good job at keeping most of us in check when we needed it most. He always gave us the courage to succeed even it we were failing at something. I will always remember the
smile he had on his face no matter what kind of day it was. I think we speak for all when i say he will be greatly missed. Neale,you will never be forgotten but you will be remembered as a great person with a huge heart, and you will always be in our thoughts,prayers and in our hearts forever.

What fine tributes are being written about Neale. I had the honor of working the carnival with Neale several years - a finer young man could not be found. He was always willing to help with whatever was needed. No job was ever too small or too big for him. He loved the MVFD and it's members. As I read all the commends about Neale I have tears rolling down my cheeks learning how everybody loved him. To his family and many friends I send my deepest sympathy.

My sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Fire Fighter/EMT Neale Slater. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Know that those of us on the south end are thinking of you all.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Neale Slater. I am an alumnus of Leonard Hall Jr. Naval Academy (2000). I was first acquainted with Neale during my senior year at Leonard Hall when he was promoted to the Color Guard with me. During the little time I got to know him in Color Guard, he made a very good impression. He was a very easy-going,respectful,successful, and humble young man. He definitely provided great leadership to Leonard Hall. From what I remember most about Neale, he always held an upbeat attitude .

To Neale's family/friends/co-workers - I give you my deepest sympathy. Neale will definitely be missed but his spirit will live in our hearts forever.
