Just like to let everyone know what a wonderful job you do and comment on the St. Mary's today article about our local VOL. FIRE DEPT. You guys a wonderful for having a beach party and allowing everyone to attend even though they made it sound like you were allowing under age drinkers....we know you control your younger ones and atleast we know we can have fun with our fire dept.!!
Keep up the great work and see everyone soon.

Thank you all, MVFD and Rescue Squad for all you do to support the community. You are Heros among us. As I read the news and postings of your recent loss, My heart and prayers go out to you all and to the family of Neale during such difficult times-May you be given some peace and comfort as you remember him and try to move forward with your lives. You all seem to be a tight nit group and family at MVFD and Rescue Squad and reading through your web site encourages my thoughts to once again to become a Volunteer EMT in Southern MD as I was several years ago.

To Neale, Family, and Friends:

Hello to all, my name is Det. L.C. Greenhill and I worked with your son and friend. For the short time I knew him, he was and still is a good friend. I am a member of the Organized Crime Division Vice/Club Enforcement Team A, Neale was one of our cadets for the underage alcohol buys initiative. Those of us in the Vice family under the direction of Sgt. Craig Gentile were saddened to hear of his passing. I came to work to start my 7p.m.-3a.m. shift on 7 May 2005, for another night of underage alcohol buys and was melancholy the whole night. I was looking forward to working with Neale, and Det. Shelton Jones and I couldn't stop thinking about Neale. On behalf of Vice and the entire Baltimore Police Family, Neale will be greatly missed, especially to those of us that worked with him. I want his family and friends to know he will live on in our hearts and minds. It was an Honor working with you, Neale.

Sincerely,
L.C.G. III

I know I have already written in here about Neale. It has been a little more than a week now since his death, and I'm just now getting the courage and strength to talk about it. Neale touched my life in a big way I would have known him for three years now, I know that is kind of a short time to know someone, but he has always been there for me. I once got a referral in school (i went to leonard hall with neale) and I remember the look of disappoint he had on his face when he talked to me..ever since then I always made sure I got good grades and was on my best behavior so I could show him how good I was doing. Even though your watching over me now from above Neale your still my motivation to good and to strive my hardest for something I want. Your my big brother always watching out for me and making sure I'm not doing anything I'm not suppose too. I love you Big Brother!! I will always miss you my guardian angel! Safe me a space next to you!!

-Lauren

Neale's graduation from Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy was bittersweet. On the one hand, Neale was moving on to his adult life, and we were all so happy for him. We knew that he would be able to spread his wings and bring his magic to so many others. On the other hand, we felt we were losing our "Brightest Star". But we were wrong; Neale continued to bless our school and was always there to lend a hand. To say that Neale was special would be an understatement; he was one of a kind.
Now we have truly lost our "Brightest Star", and the loss is great.
For such an incredible person to be taken at such a young age, GOD must have an incredible plan for him.
We love you Neale, and miss you so much. Thank you for all that you gave.

It has taken me some time to find the words to get on here and do this. Today was one of the hardest days of our lives. Neale you were a great friend and you have touched my life in a special way. You were always there and it didn't matter what it was or when it was you were there. I really started being good friends with you as bam bam said" back in the good ole party days at Hollywood Rescue Squad". We had many good times together especially O.C. and Mis and T's party. Ha! Ha! You will never be forgotten and you will always live on because of our wonderful memories of you. Rest in peace and we will see you when our time here is through and until then be our guardian angel and watch over and protect us until we meet again. My prayers are with the family with stacy and all the peoples lives that you have touched over your short 20 years. I would like to quote a very special little 6 year old who called you her "boyfriend", Brooke Raley. "Don't you know he is in a better place then we are and he is watching us". That helped me to put things in perspective and I knew you would appreciate it. I love you Neale and you will always be my friend.

I did not know Neale Slater personally, but I did know that he was a Firefighter/EMT and training to be in the MSP. To me, that makes him family and anyone who is in the Fire/EMS or Police service would understand what that means. Neale had already acheived so much for his age and now suddenly and sadly his life has been taken from us. Everyone should remember he is now with our other brothers and sisters we have lost in the past and will watch over all of us. One thing to be said for all of us in the Fire/EMS service is that we are always there for each other in tragic times like these.

To the family and friends of Neale Slater my sincere condolences are with you.

To ALL the members of the MVFD & MVRS my prayers and thouhgts are with you all!

To My brother Neale Slater you will be missed but never forgotten. May you rest in peace.

Sincerely,

Amy Carter
