At 1407 hours, Stations 22, 2, Charles Boat 5, Calvert Boat 4 and EMS Station 29 were alerted to the Patuxent River just off of Golden Beach for the overturned boat and possible subjects in the water.

The Charles County Dive Team as well as Charles Dive Team 8 were alerted to the call as well.

Chief 2 (Craig) and Rescue Engine 222 arrived at Long Point followed by Rescue Squad 2 and Ambulance 295. Using binoculars, a visual on the boat was located confirming it was in the middle of the river. Charles Boat 5 arrived out with the vessel and confirmed there was no one around it.

Further information obtained from the Department of Natural Resources advised that they had already investigated the incident as it had happened the day before. The owner left the boat anchored and disbaled, where it broke free and drifted out into the river.

The assignment was placed in service with this information.

Units: Rescue Engine 222, Rescue Squad 2, Chief 2
