Annual Installation and Awards Banquet

The Department's Annual Installation of Officers and Awards Banquet was held on Saturday night, January 19th, 2008. The dinner was provided by Rita B.'s Catering and entertainment afterwards was provided by the band Out of Order.

The Department's Will Williams was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. He introduced the new officers of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Administrative and Operational officers as well as the Board of Directors. All groups were sworn in and the awards were given thereafter.

The Ladies Auxiliary President, Karen Montgomery, presented President John Montgomery with a check for $30,000 to remodel the bathrooms in the hall. Awards for the top 10 runners from Station 2 along with the top 5 runners from Station 22 were given as well. This year's Cadet Firefighter of the Year was given to Melanie McAuley. This year's Junior Firefighter of the Year was given to Andrew McHone and the Firefighter of the Year went to Keith Hemming. The President's Award went to Vice President Paul Colonna and Chief Carol Craig presented the Chief's award to Assistant Chief John B. Raley.

The St. Mary's County Commissioners said a few inspirational words as well as Delegate John Wood and St. Mary's County Sheriff Tim Cameron.

A huge THANK YOU goes to the fill-in crews from Seventh District, Leonardtown, and Oxford Pennsylvania who provided coverage for the first due so our members could have a night off.
