| At 2258 hours Stations 2, 29, and 19 were dispatched to Chaptico Road in the area of Timothy Court for the Motor Vehicle Accident with undetermined injuries. Just after the call was dispatched Medic 1 was also alerted as Fireboard was now receiving reports of a vehicle overturned with one subject pinned.
Chief 2 arrived on the scene to establish the Chaptico Road Command, while confirming a single vehicle overturned with a single patient trapped. After a quick assesment of the patient by the Ambulance crew, a medevac was requested. Rescue Squad 2 arrived shortly after and began with stabilizing the vehicle for extrication. Once the vehicle was stabilized the Squad crew used the Hurst Extractor II to cut off the passenger's door to allow for better access to the victim. Once the door was removed the passenger's seat was leaned back and the lone occupant was removed from the vehicle. The patient was then turned over to awaiting EMS crews.
The patient was then transported to Mother Catherine Spalding School where Engine 24 set up the landing site for Trooper 7. The patient was transported to PG Shock Trauma and all units were clear the scene by 0003 hours. |
