On Monday, at 1450 hours, Rescue Squad 2, Squad 1002, and various EMS units were alerted to Three Notch Road in front of the McDonalds for an MVC with one patient reported to be trapped.
Chief 2A and Rescue Squad 2 made the response with 5 volunteers. Additional callers were reporting a vehicle on fire which alerted Engine 2 and Engine 1015. Engine 23 made the response with 4 additional volunteers.
Squad 1002 arrived and found 4 vehicles, one with entrapment and a separate car on its roof. Rescue Squad 2 arrived and the two Squads worked to extricate one patient. Engine 23 and Engine 1015 staged and diverted to the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home to establish a landing site for Trooper 7.
3 patients were transported and 4 patients refused care.

****ST. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Press Release**** Deputies Make Arrests Following Stolen Vehicle Pursuit
Charlotte Hall, MD (May 20, 2024) – On Monday, May 20, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a motor vehicle was stolen from a Great Mills, Maryland residence. At approximately 2:47 p.m., Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office (SMCSO) attempted to initiate a traffic stop for the stolen vehicle at the Three Notch Road and Mechanicsville Road intersection in Mechanicsville. The vehicle operator refused to stop and continued traveling north on Three Notch Road to elude police. The stolen motor vehicle caused a motor vehicle collision on Three Notch Road near Golden Beach Road.
The motor vehicle collision involved the stolen vehicle and four additional vehicles. Three suspects, aged 15, 16, and 22, were transported to the hospital for precautionary measures. Additionally, occupants of the other involved vehicles were transported to local hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the stolen vehicle and motor vehicle collision is ongoing.
