| The apparatus floor at Station 2 was recently redone by Floor Coatings Etc. of New Castle, Delaware. The originally flooring, installed in 1976, was nearing the end of it's life cycle. All equipment in the apparatus bays, wash rack, and hose storage areas were removed for one week while the contractor laid the new floor. The contractor removed the old floor and preped the cement for the new one. Once this was complete, they applied the non-slip epoxy coating and striping. The project took approximately four days to complete. Throughout the week, firefighters were encouraged to take their gear home with them. Most apparatus and equipment had to be placed outside. Any other departments pursuing a similar project are encouraged e-mail our station at info@mvfd.com. We would be happy to setup a tour or send pictures. |
