Wagon and Fire Chief on Extrication in Charles County |

| Early Sunday morning, Engine Company 2 was alerted mutual aid to Charles County, on Leonardtown Road at Deborah Drive for a report of a Motor Vehicle Accident, with subjects trapped. Engine23(Sgt. Raley) and the Fire Chief(Raley) made the response. Units arrived with Charles Squad 2 to find two patients trapped after colliding with a tree. The crew went to work utilizing the Hurst tools off Squad 2 to begin extrication. The passenger was the first patient encountered and was pinned by the dash . He was extricated first in order for crews to extricate the driver. The driver of the vehicle was pinned between the dash and floor board of the vehicle. Engine 23's crew and Charles Chief 1A worked for thirty minutes to free the driver. Both patients were transported to local hospitals as helicopters were grounded due to fog. Engine 23 and Chief 2 operated for just over an hour. Upon clearing Engine 23 responded on an undetermined fire that ended up being a vehicle well-off after colliding with a tree. |
