As units were marking up, Fireboard Communications alerted a second motor vehicle accident in front of the Potomac Motor Speedway on Budds Creek Road, reported vehicle overturned, in the woods, with entrapment. With that Rescue Engine 22(Lt. Cox) marked on the air and advised they were responding to the Potomac Motor Speedway incident, along with Charles Rescue Squad 10 and Charles Paramedic 149. Police arrived just prior to the Rescue Engine and advised they believed the patient was priority four. The Rescue arrived and went to work assessing the patient as other crew members set up for extrication. Once confirmation was made the patient was priority four, crews remained on the scene to provide scene lighting for the accident reconstruction team and to assist with extrication once the police were completed their investigation. The first MVA was handled by Engine 21(Sgt. DeGruy) and Ambulance 299, which transported one patient. These were just two of the seven calls handled by the Mechanicsville Volunteers within four hours. The department offers its condolences to the family friends affected by this incident. |
