| Today the Firehouse was visited by local radio station Star 98.3 for "Firehouse Friday". Every Friday during the summer, Morning DJ's "T-Bone and Heather" have visited different Fire Departments in the Southern Maryland area to introduce the fire departments to the community and give them some insight as to what we are about and the job we perform.
As with every other fire department they have visited, they were offered to don turnout gear and participate in various training and drills. We wanted to do something a little different and let "T-Bone" don a set of gear and SCBA and put him through an actual live burn using our mobile burn facility.
We think he had a good time and enjoyed himself. Firefighters let the trailer heat up to about six hundred degrees and then proceeded into the room for extinguishment.
The department would like to thank "T-Bone and Heather" for coming to the station and doing their morning show and hope that they enjoyed their time with us. |
