At 2107 hours, the working house fire assignment was alerted to 26913 Yowaiski Mill Road, in Country Lakes. This brought Stations 2, 22, 5, Charles 2, Truck 1, Water Supply 5 and EMS Stations 29 and Charles 2. Initial reports advised of fire visible from the roof of a unoccupied residence.

Engine 23 (Capt Kurtz), Rescue Engine 222 (Sgt Colvin), Engine 224 (FF Bellevou), Rescue Squad 2 (Capt Kidwell), Chief 2A and Fire Chief 2 went enroute at dispatch. Rescue Engine 222, laid in the 4" LDH, arrived on side "alpha" of a split-level, single family residence with nothing evident. Fire Chief 2 established the "Yowaiski Mill Road Command" and advised to Level 2 stage all units in their line of approach except for the rescue company and Engine 23, who was establishing the water supply.

After further investigation, a clogged chimney flu was found and the incident was scaled back to the units from Station 2 and Ambulance 298. Firefighters checked the residence with the thermal imager and went to the roof to chain the chimney. Once all visible fire was removed from the flu, units picked up and readied for service.

Units operated on the incident for just over and hour.
