I would just like to take this opportunity to say "Thank You". The reason being is for allowing Santa to stay on top of the truck from Tenn Wood Acres to Helen Estates. I live on a local farm in between and each year we patiently await to see Santa and in the previous years Santa gets down prior to getting out onto Rt. 5, which I understand the safety issue. All I can say is Thanks and we look forward to seeing Santa next year and thanks for everything each and everyone of you do.

Great site! That video with the auto well involved was extreme. Stay safe over there in Maryland and hopefully me and the guys can visit some day. Remember, pull a line, check the windows, and pull the blinds!
A very enterprising young man - Ryan Gilhully - called our office recently to let us know that he would like to raise funds for our Children's Burn Camp by biking across the U.S.
I have attached a letter from our Executive Director, Frank Szivos, (frankctburns@optonline.net) explaining his journey. (Sorry couldn't attach it here)
Ryan's dad is a firefighter in New Haven, Connecticut. We are writing to give your fair city a head's up and, if they see Ryan and Dwight cycling through, perhaps your fire department would be able to extend a shower or a place to lay their heads.
Thank you so much in advance.

I would like to thank all the fire and rescue ladies and guys who responded to the motor vehicle accident in Morganza on June 4. My parents were the two in the car that hit the box truck. It was a scary time but I wanted to let everyone know they are both recovering. God bless you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Hey guys nice to see you are running calls. I really enjoyed watching the repetittive response videos. Stay low, stay straight and keep going.

I just want to thank all of the men and women that responded to the Huntersville house fire. The house belongs to my in laws and they also extend their gratitude for a job well done. I did not get a chance to thank you all that night, but again, thanks. I have almost 16 years in the fire service and have never been on this side of the fence before. It makes what we do worth it that much more. Again a great job, response time, salvage (above and beyond), and well planned overhaul. All done with care and professionalism. Keep up the good work which makes "The Deuce" one of the best.
Sincerly,
Ray Richards

I was in an accident on Valentines Day with my mom and three kids at the intersection by Mckays and I want to thank all the firefighters that came. You guys did a great job. I would like to make a special thanks to firefighter/emt BELLEVOU he never left my side. I want everyone to know we are all okay. I, of course, am 6 months pregnant. The baby is fine. I was having contractions but they stopped them. I have a hurt shoulder and a bump on my head. All three kids had no injuries. My mom had bruising of the chest and a broken hand. I just want to thank you again. BELLEVOU you did great and I and my husband will keep you in our hearts. THANKS
To the members of the Mechanicsville Fire Co ,
I only recently heard about Raoul K. Denton's (RKD) passing. He just this past December had contacted us though our website. He had made quite an impression while he was up here and is still talked about. I know as the word spreads of his death many of our current and former members will be saddened.
I only wish we had heard sooner and had been able to attend his service. He had been a great asset to us while he served with us from the mid 1970's to the 1980's.
I last thing I'll share with you, I am not sure if he was called "Smitty" down there, but we called him that because he had bought a fire company jacket (someone ordered but did not pay for it) right after he joined and the name "Smitty" was already on it, so the name stuck.
For us he was and will always be "Smitty" May he rest in Peace,
Marty Joyce, Fire Chief , Trevose Fire Company.

I would like to send my condolences to the Mechanicsville VFD family as well as Dennis, Scott and Katie. I felt Raoul was not only a good person but honest and very well mannered to the degree it makes your department look very professional. From the day I started the cadet program reguardless of how long I stuck around I looked at him as a big brother and a mentor. I am sorry I could not make it to the veiwing as some personal issues arose that prevented me from being there but I am deeply saddened over it. I hope to see you all real soon. May God bless all of you.
