Mr Raley, I am long overdue to commend you on a very impressive website. Being a ff and web developer/programmer myself I find myself constantly viewing and surfing websites from deparments throughout the east coast. I have found mvfd.com to be one of the best I have seen. I first came across this website back in 2000 from a link about the "then new" Spartan/Saulsbury Rescue and I have been coming back to it on a near weekly basis ever since. This site encompasses information about the department's operations, services, equipment, members and incidents with descriptive detail and impressive photos all while using some of the latset web desine/layout and programming techniques. I also enjoy that fact that the site is constantly updated unlke countless others I have seen. In closing I would like to that that mvfd.com provides the model of what a Fire Department Website should look like and keep up the good work.
I am very impressed with your SOG's. I am going to incorporate some of your clearly written and concise language into ours. Thanks for providing this resource to us all.
On behalf of the Officers and Members of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department, we would like to send out our condolences to the Mechanicsville VFD and the Asher family for your loss.
The first time we met was during the winter of ’98. You were helping to get a pickup unstuck. When you walked around the corner of the plow and those eyes met mine, I knew where you belonged. Those eyes and brow, without a doubt an Asher’s son.
Over the next few years I would see you often, on a call or around town. You never failed to say Hi on you way by.
As we lay you to rest, my heart is heavy and my eyes are wet. The loss is hard to comprehend. I will never forget you Ross. Though you were in my life only briefly, I’m very glad we met.
I know your place is in Heaven now. May you rest in peace.
To all the members of MVFD, thank you for all that you do.
