At 1340 hours, Engine 2 and Tanker 2 were alerted to South Earnshaw Way in the first due for the reported house on fire. Engine 24(DFC Raley), Tanker 2(SO Faunce), Engine 23(Capt. Burroughs), and Chief 2(Trowbridge) quickly made the response with 13 volunteers.
Engine 24 arrived first and found a one story, single family home with smoke showing from all 4 sides of the home. Engine 24 conducted a 360 of the structure and found the house to be on a basement with a well advanced basement fire. Engine 24 deployed their attack line to Side Charlie and made an interior attack on the home. Chief 2 established the command.
Engine 24 worked for approximately 10 minutes to extinguish the basement fire. Truck 1 and Truck 7 arrived and reported to division 1 with a handline and to open up with pretty significant extension to division 1.
All units operated for approximately an hour and a half extinguishing all fire and checking for hot spots.
