| Members loaded up the apparatus on this chilly Sunday morning to conduct the final training on an acquired structure located at 27930 Old Village Road in Mechanicsville. Firefighters have been conducting various training evolutions on the structure for the past several months. Some of them include, search and rescue, attack line advancement and firefighter safety and survival. The final scenario to be conducted would involve advancing into the structure under live fire conditions. Firefighters were grouped into teams of three for the evolutions and started out at rehab having their vitals checked. Vitals were also checked after each team completed a burn. The department would like to thank the Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Squad for standing by and assisting with the training exercise. A great time was had by all as firefighters honed their skills through the various opportunities that were afforded to us thru the generous donation of this structure. The Department would like to thank Dr. Garner Morgan for this donation. The Ladies Auxiliary were also on hand and provided lunch for the training. Again, we thank them for being there for us as always. A special thanks to John Douglass and Jason Rearick for the pictures.
