Fire Reported Out

Station 2 was alerted to 29110 Linda Way in Huntersville for the fire reported out.

Engine 23 (Lt. Hemming)proceeded to the scene and was advised by Fireboard Communications the caller stated he had a grease fire on his stove but he had extinguished it.

Engine 23 arrived on scene sides "alpha" and "bravo" of a one story single family with nothing evident. Firefighters noticed a garden hose running into the residence. Upon entering the structure, a moderate smoke condition was found throughout. The crew split into two teams with one taking the thermal imager in and checking for extension while the other set up for ventilation. At this time, Rescue Squad 2 was requested to assist with the smoke removal.

Crews removed the exhaust fan, secured the power and opened up the wall behind finding no extension. Positive and negative pressure ventilation was used to clear the basement and first floors of smoke.

A total of ten personnel operated on the scene for approxiamtely an hour on the incident.
