Firefighters Battle House Fire in Oakville

At 1752 hours, Stations 2, 7, 1, 5 and EMS Station 29 were alerted to a house on fire at 41844 Queens Landing Road in the Oakville community of the first due. Initial reports advised of a working fire.

Arriving at 1759 hours, Fire Chief 2 advised he was on the scene with heavy fire in a single family residence and established the "Queens Landing Command". Engine 23 arrived next, dropped its' line at the driveway and advanced a 2" attack line into the structure. Truck Company 7 arrived and assumed the first special service duties followed by Engine 74 who supplied Engine 23. Its' crew advanced additional lines to the structure. Crews made an aggressive interior attack but were pulled out due to rapidly deteriorating conditions. Once the building was evacuated and accountability complete, crews regrouped and went back to work extinguishing the remaining fire throughout the structure.

Tanker 2, Engine 24, Engine 224 and Engine 14 ran a water shuttle from the pond at the intersection of Oakville Road and Three Notch Road. Water Supply 5 handled water supply at the draft site.

Rescue Squad -2 set up lighting and re-filled SCBA as needed.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the fire, which is ongoing at this time. Crews operated on the scene for approximately 3 hours and there were no firefighter injuries.

Engine 222 and Charles Engine 53 handled the fill-in duties at Station 2.

While on the fill-in, units from Station 2, Truck Company 1, Charles 2, Charles 5 and EMS Station 29 responded to 39514 New Market Turner Road for a house fire. Units found nothing and went in service in less than 30 minutes.
