Rollover Accident Results in Triple Flyout

At 2104 hours, Station, 2 EMS Stations 29 and 19 were alerted to a motor vehicle accident with reported rollover in front of 39030 Chaptico Road in Helen. Information received advised the vehicle had rolled several times with possible occupants ejected. Fireboard Communications alerted a medevac based on the initial information received. Sheriff's Department units arrived and confirmed a single vehicle overturned and victims with serious injuries.

Ambulance-295 arrived on scene followed by Rescue Squad-2 who established the "Chaptico Road Command" and began to go to work. Ambulance-295 triaged the patients and started patient care, while the squad crew set up lighting, secured the vehicle and assisted with EMS with patient care. After conversing with the occupants, it was determined that they had all been ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle had rolled five or six times. Two of the victims had lost consciousness for a period of time. EMS personnel advised they wanted to medevac all three patients so an additional helo was requested which brought Medstar Helicopter-1 to the scene along with MSP Trooper-7.

Engine-224 responded and established the landing site at Mother Catherine Spalding School for both helos. All patients were airlifted to Medstar.

Squad-2 remained on the scene for lighting while the tow company retrieved the vehicle.
