| On December 22 at 1222 hours, Station 2, EMS Stations 29, 19 and Medic-2 were alerted for a motor vehicle collision reported possibly serious in the area of Margaret Brent Middle School on Point Lookout Road in Helen.
Fireboard Communications was receiving additional reports stating that one vehicle was on fire. Ambulance-298 was responding from St. Mary's Hospital to another incident when they came upon the accident, arriving at 1223 hours. The crew, along with some bystanders, assisted with pulling one victim to safety as he was laying next to the auto that was fully engulfed in flames.
Fire Chief-2 arrived at 1232 hours, established the "Point Lookout Road Command" and advised units to step it up Priority-1. Upon further scene size up a medevac was requested, however, was cancelled after further assessment of the patients by EMS personnel. Luckily, the victims sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Three patients total were transported to St. Mary's Hospital by Ambulance-298 and Ambulance-197. One victim had originally signed a refusal, however changed his mind after a while and Ambulance-298 returned to transport him as well.
A second accident occurred just south of this one and Station 1 (Leonardtown) and EMS Stations 19, 39 and Medic-1 were alerted to the scene. That accident proved to be property damage only and the ambulances were cancelled.
