One Flown from MVA on Golden Beach Road |

| On Monday, August 4, at 1344 hours, Stations 2, 22, 29, Charles 2 and EMS 2 were alered to a motor vehicle accident on Golden Beach Road at Business Center Drive. Initial reports indicated a single vehicle into a telephone pole. Rescue Squad 2 arrived on the scene, assummed command, and advised Fireboard Communications of a single subject trapped and a SMECO pole cut in half. At that time, the squad crew begain extrication and command requested the helicopter and a medic unit. Engine 222 arrived with Chief 22B (DC Dave Sampson) assumming the Golden Beach Road Command and assigning operations to the squad. The subject was packaged and loaded onto Charles Ambulance 28 for patient care until the arrival of MSP Trooper 7. Engine 222 handled the LZ for the helicopter which transported the patient priority 1 to a local trauma center. Units returned to service and Engine 222 remained on the scene with SMECO until the power lines were secured. |
