| On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 2337 hours, units were dispatched to the 25000 block of Timothy Court in Mechanicsville following reports of a structure fire. Dispatch information indicated a residential single-family dwelling had been struck by lightning, igniting a fire in the attic. Chief 2, Engine 23, Engine Tanker 24, Tanker 2, and multiple Mutual Aid Fire and EMS units responded to the scene. Chief 2 arrived on the scene to find a two-story, single-family home with heavy fire showing through the roof. Chief 2 established command and confirmed that all occupants had successfully evacuated the home. Engine 23 laid a supply line from the turn on Timothy Court, which was picked up by Engine Tanker 24, and crews made entry into the structure to initiate an interior fire attack on the second floor. A dump tank operation was established to maintain a steady water supply, with the primary water supply point located in the Grandview Haven neighborhood. The Officer of Tanker 2 held the role of Water Supply Officer for the duration of the incident. Command marked the fire under control at 0016 hours. Crews remained on the scene for over an hour performing extensive overhaul, opening walls to extinguish hot spots. Command was officially terminated at 0148 hours. A total of 66 personnel responded.
