Residential Structure Fire in Hollywood's First Due |

| At 17:48 hours on April 16, firefighters from Hollywood, Mechanicsville, Leonardtown, Seventh District, Hughesville, the Fire Duty Chief, and EMS units were dispatched to the 40500 block of Medleys Lane for a reported residential structure fire, with multiple callers reporting smoke coming from the roofline. Chief 2A, Chief 2B, Engine 22, Engine-Tanker 24, and Tanker 2 responded. Engine 71 arrived on scene to find a one-story, single-family home with fire showing from the roof and immediately initiated an aggressive interior attack. Primary and secondary searches confirmed all occupants had safely exited the home prior to arrival. One occupant was evaluated on scene for minor injuries. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced residents. Approximately 77 fire and EMS personnel responded. Crews remained on scene to conduct overhaul operations and check for hotspots. No firefighter injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office. Command was terminated at 19:02 hours. |
