| On Friday, December 19, 2025, at 2:15pm, firefighters were dispatched to the 27000 block of Mt. Zion Church Road for a reported structure fire with multiple 911 calls.
Chief 2, Chief 2A, Engine 22, Engine Tanker 24, Engine Tanker 224, and Tanker 2 responded with 16 volunteers, along with assistance from the Hollywood, Bay District, Leonardtown, Hughesville, and Seventh District Fire Departments.
Chief 2A and Engine 22 arrived to find a single-wide trailer with heavy fire showing. Due to conditions, crews operated in a defensive mode.
Water supply was established from Laurel Grove Road and the Ben Oaks subdivision. The fire was brought under control at 2:41pm, with only minor hot spots remaining.
Primary and secondary searches confirmed everyone was out of the structure. One person was evaluated by EMS, and the Red Cross was contacted to assist the occupant.
During this incident, Chief 2, Chief 2B, Rescue Squad 2, and Engine Tanker 224 responded to an additional reported house fire in Company 1002s area.
Crews remained on the scene for approximately two hours. |
