| It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Deloris "Dee" Louise Ellis, who passed away on November 30, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Theresa Ragusa. Born with a generous heart and an unshakable spirit, Deloris devoted her life to her three sons, who were her greatest source of pride. Her love extended even further to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate their achievements, comfort them in hard times, or remind them how much they were loved.
A dedicated member of her community, Dee found joy in volunteering at the Mechanicsville Voluntary Fire Department - Ladies of Auxiliary, where her warm smile and helpful hands were always welcomed. Her creativity flourished in her jewelry-making, a hobby she poured her heart into. She delighted in crafting beautiful pieces and gifting them to the special women in her life-each bracelet or necklace a small token of her affection and thoughtfulness.
A lifelong Beatles fan, their songs became the soundtrack to countless family memories, moments of laughter, and times of togetherness. In her later years, Dee shared a home with her beloved sister, Lorraine, with whom she created countless treasured moments. Their companionship brought her comfort, joy, and endless laughter. Deloris is survived by her sons, Joseph Ellis of Mooresville, NC, Brandon Ellis and wife Angela of Mooresville, NC and Kristopher Ellis of Pensacola, FL; her grandchildren, Mekenzie MacEachern, Jacob Ellis and wife Avery, Joshua Ellis, Anah Dagenhart and husband Dylan, Morgan Ellis and fiancé John Mennella, and Lincoln Ellis, great-grandchildren, Braxton Crowe and Oliver Ellis; and her sister Lorraine Ferguson.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in the family she adored and the lives she touched. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 on Monday, December 8, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the music she loved and the memories she helped create. |
