Rescue Squad Extricates One in Budds Creek

On Friday at 1043 hours, Squad 2 was alerted to Trinity Church Road at Ryceville Road for an MVC involving a dump truck. Chief 2 and Squad 2 made the response with 7 volunteers immediately.

Chief 2 arrived first to confirm a head on accident involving a Grain Truck and an SUV with one patient trapped an active fuel leak from a saddle tank. Rescue Squad 2 arrived on the scene and completed stabilization of the vehicle with entrapment, and utilized Holmatro Rescue Tools to extricate the trapped occupant.

Once extrication was complete, the crew from Rescue Squad 2 then assessed the leaking diesel fuel and was able to plug the hole to stop the leak.

2 patients were transported to local hospitals and the scene was turned over to HAZMAT Company 1016 to assist Police and the tow truck.

Chief 2 held command of the incident.
