On September 8, 2025, at the start of the company business meeting, the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department officially placed into service a 2025 Can-Am Defender, designated as UTV2. This new unit replaces our 2011 John Deere Gator UTV that was sold earlier this year.

UTV2 is equipped with a dual skid setup manufactured by QTAC, allowing the unit to provide both fire suppression and rescue capabilities. It will serve in remote and recreational areas enhancing our ability to respond quickly and effectively to incidents in challenging terrain.

The unit will be transported using a brand-new 2025 18-foot Cox trailer, completing the setup and ensuring readiness for deployment.
