Afternoon Garage Fire in the 2-11 Box

At 1657 hours, Company 2 and surrounding companies were alerted to Baptist Church Road in the area of Stanton Way for a garage fire threatening a home. Engine 23 w/4, Tanker 2 w/2, Tanker 224(AFC Raley) w/4, and Rescue Squad 2(Lt. Senatore) w/4 and the Fire Chief all made the response at dispatch.

Engine 23 arrived first to find a 40 x 20 detached garage well involved, a car on fire outside the garage, and possible extension to a single family home. The crew deployed the 2” attack line and begin extinguishment. Tanker 2 and 224 arrived and set up for water supply operations.

Squad 2, Truck 7, and Truck 1 arrived and went to work assisting the engine companies with opening up.

Units had the bulk of the fire knocked down within 20 minutes.

Chief 2A held the Mechanicsville Command.
