Early Morning Collision Injures Two

At 0548 hours, Rescue Squad 2 was alerted to Budds Creek Road in the area of Mechanicsville Road for the collision with reported one overturned and entrapment.

The rescue arrived confirming the dispatched information and set up for extrication. One operator was out upon arrival and the driver of the other vehicle was trapped. Crews worked to free the operator in under twenty minutes.

Both patients would require transport to an area trauma center, which summoned Troopers 7 and 2 to the scene. A landing site was established at the Country Lakes ballfields by Engine 23.

Both patients were medevaced to Capital Region Medical Center and units cleared the scene.

Captain 2 (Busl) held the Budds Creek Road Command.

Units: Rescue Squad 2, Engine 23, Fire Chief 2
