On Wednesday, at 0932 hours, Engine 2 and Tanker 2 were alerted to 5950 Foster Place for a house on fire, with reports of a burn patient in the front yard. Engine 23 and Tanker 2 made the response with 5 personnel. Engine Tanker 1002 and Chief 1002 were first arriving and found a two-story farmhouse with fire throughout and a priority one burn patient in the front yard.

Engine 23, Truck Company 1001, Calvert Rescue Squad 2, and Company 1002 deployed three attack lines and worked to extinguish all fire. Crews worked for approximately 1 hour knocking down the bulk of the fire. Tanker 2 assisted with water supply shuttling several loads of water to the scene.

Engine 23, Engine 1014, and Squad 1010 worked for an additional two hours opening up and hitting hot spots.

Chief 1002 held the Hughesville Command and Chief 2B held operations.

The department would like to extend our condolences to the family affected by this incident.
