On Friday June 11th, as the rain began to move out of the area, 10 members loaded up in Command 2, Engine 23, and Engine-Tanker 24 to make the trek across the river to Colonial Beach.

As soon as units left the station the company was alerted to Mechanicsville Road and Budds Creek Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident. The units along with the Rescue Squad and the Fire Chief all made the response. Units arrived to find a single vehicle off the road but with no injuries.

The units continued on to Virginia following the accident. A short time later Squad 2 and Tanker 2 were alerted to Ryceville Road for a shed fire. Chief 2, Rescue Squad 2, and Tanker 2 responded at dispatch with 7 volunteers and left an additional crew back at the station. Crews operated for just over an hour extinguishing a shed fire.

Once crews arrived in Colonial Beach, the weather had broken and crews got to work cleaning up the apparatus.

Crews got the units cleaned up and set up for judging. The judges came around and inspected the units for cleanliness, functionality, inspected turnout gear, and quizzed the members knowledge.

The company was awarded the following awards for our efforts:

-Best Appearing Engine Company
-Best Appearing Tanker
-Charles E. Catlett Jr. Award for the Best Appearing “Pierce”
