Company Runs First Due MCI with Entrapment

At 1155 hours, Rescue Squad 2, and surrounding Rescues and EMS units were alerted to Three Notch Road and New Market Road for the MVA, reported serious involving a dump truck, with entrapment and numerous patients.

Rescue Squad 2, Rescue Engine 22, and Chief 2 responded on the run. Communications advised they were taking numerous calls and some callers were reporting 6 patients trapped and several in the roadway.

Mechanicsville units arrived and confirmed reports, advising that there were 2 trapped patients, and 8 injured in total.

Chief 2 established command and had first arriving EMS units begin triage of the injured while the Rescues worked on extrication of the trapped occupants.

All 8 patients were flown to area trauma centers. The scene was turned over to the Sheriffs office and units cleared the scene.

Engine 72 handled a transfer to Mechanicsville during this incident and handled an additional call in the first due.

Friend that was in the car by the woods, she is doing ok. Concussion, scrapes and bruises.

I see infant car seats.... what's the update on the children, if any, involved? Adults, too. Prayers for all involved.
