At 10:26:57 hours, on Wednesday morning, Rescue Squad 2 was dispatched to Trinity Church Rd and Old Sycamore Rd for the motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Initial reports were multiple vehicles with entrapment, and one occupied vehicle on fire.

Squad 2 responded at dispatch with 8 personnel and arrived at 10:38:15 as Dentsville Engine 1015 was applying water to the vehicle on fire. Chief 1017 advised he had 3 vehicles, with entrapment in two of them. The crew split and immediately began extrication on two vehicles that had one person trapped in each.

Additional crews from Newburg, La Plata, and Hughesville arrived and assisted with completing a rapid extrication on one unconscious, Priority 1 patient. Crews also worked together to perform a door and roof removal, as well as a dash lift, on the second vehicle to facilitate patient removal. All patients were transported to Charles Regional Medical Center.

Engine Tanker 24 responded as well but was cancelled enroute. Units worked for approximately 45 minutes.

Chief 1017A had the Command.
