Lunch Time Crash Sends One to Trauma Center

At 1137 hours, Company 2 along with EMS Companies 29 and Charles 1002 were alerted to the area of the Mechanicsville Building Supply for the motor vehicle collision with injuries. Rescue Squad 2 (FF Raley) made the response shortly after dispatch with 4.

Squad 2 arrived on the scene to find 2 vehicles off the road way. Chief 2 (Trowbridge) arrived shortly after and established the "Mechanicsville Command". As the crew from the squad was assessing the patients from the two vehicles, a bystander notified a deputy that was on the scene that another vehicle was involved and the patient was unconscious. Crews made their way down to the vehicle and began to assess.

After the subject was removed from the vehicle and later assessed, command requested a helicopter for a Priority 1, Catagory Alpha fly out. While Ambulance 297 handled the Priority 1 patient, Ambulance 796 transported 1 Priority 3 to St. Marys and Ambulance 798 transported 3 Priority 3 patients to St. Mary's as well.

Engine 23 (FF Cox) handled the landing site at the fire station.

Units operated for approximately 45 minutes.
