At 2340 hours on July 4, Engine Companies 2, 1002, 1014, Tankers 2, 1002, 1010, Trucks 1, and 7, and Squad 1010 were alerted to 27505 James Road for the reported Saw Mill on fire. Engine 23(Sgt. Burroughs), Tanker 24(FF Raley), Tanker 2, and Chief 2(Trowbridge) made the response with 11. First arriving Engine 23 laid out from the end of the driveway, and advised of a 50' x 100' barn/saw mill well off. Chief 2 arrived right behind Engine 23 and established the James Road command.

Tanker 24, and 2 arrived next and began to set up water supply operations. Tanker 24 immediately charged the supply line and fed tank water to Engine 23. The two tankers also set up a folding tank and Tanker 2 dumped its load of water into the tank. Engine 1014 arrived and set up on the folding tank to complete the water supply.

Engine 23 led off with a 2" attack line and begin to extinguish the fire. Next arriving units pulled additional attack lines to assist. Once all the tankers arrived, command ordered Truck 7 to flow the ladder pipe to extinguish the bulk of the fire.

Units operated for 3 hours before clearing the scene. 51,000 gallons of water were flowed. Command was terminated at 0251 hours.
