By Mechanicsville Volunteers
March 10, 2018

At 0800 Saturday morning some members conducted a rope drill on some new equipment we have obtained from the County as well as from grants.

Members reviewed the following;
Different types of anchors and how to backtie them.
Rappelling using a figure 8 with ears, as well as the Petzl ID descender.
MPD "mirrored system" for main and belay lines.
Arizona Vortex Tripod System as a Artificial High Directional.
Aztek kits for edge protection and back ties, as well as for stokes basket bridle and attendant use.
Stokes basket rigging and patient packaging.

This new equipment expands our capabilities as a Rescue Company as we continue to train on it uses.
