On 12/19/2017 at approximately 1242 hours, units from Mechanicsville VFD and surrounding departments were dispatched to the 26800 block of Thompson Corner Rd for the reported shed fire. Engines 24, 23, Tanker 2, Car 2 and Utility 2A responded on the call. Engine 24 arrived first and found a 15' x 30' shed, the contents and surrounding brush on fire. Engine 24's crew pulled an attack line and started to extinguish the fire. Hughesville VFD Engine 1002 arrived shortly after and pulled a second attack line to assist with fire attack. Leonardtown VFD Truck 1 arrived and started overhaul.

The assignment was quickly scaled back holding units from Mechanicsville, Hughesville and Leonardtown.

Crews worked for approximately an hour and thirty minutes. No injuries were reported and damage was kept to the area of origin.
