July 23, 2017

At 1956 hours, the station was alerted to 27861 Budds Creek Road, Maryland International Raceway, for the traumatic injuries. Engine 23 and Rescue Squad 2 made the response. As units were responding, additional information was relayed advising it was high speed collision at the end of the track with a priority four patient. They also advised that extrication would be needed and units proceeded to the scene with this information.

Engine 23 arrived to find a dragster style racecar into the woods at the end of the track. The rescue provided scene lighting for law enforcement to conduct their investigation and extricated the operator once they were completed.

Units operated for approximately two and half hours.

The officers and members extend their condolences to the family and friends affected by this incident.
