Serious MVC in the First Due

At 2052 hours, Squad 2, EMS Stations 29, Charles 2, and the Medic Unit were alerted to Three Notch Road and Baptist Church Road for a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Chief 2A(Trowbridge), Chief 2B(Krabbe), Rescue Engine 22(Capt. Raley), and Rescue Squad 2(Lt. Barnes) went enroute at dispatch.

Ambulance 296 arrived first and immediately requested a helo for a Category A, Priority 1 patient. The Chiefs and Rescues arrived moments later to find a motorcycle laying in the roadway next to the operator, which had t-boned a pick-up truck in the intersection.

Crews began packaging and patient care for the injured operator. While operating, Rescue Squad 2 was alerted to Charles County for a house fire. The squad cleared and responded to arrive and stage. A small kitchen fire was handled by the first 2 engines and special service.

The patient was originally being transported to PG Trauma by ground but was rerouted to Suburban while enroute.

The Rescue Engine remained on the scene for lighting for the police for about 3 hours.
