Double Fatal in Chaptico

At 1944 hours, Rescue Squad 2, Rescue Squad 5, and EMS units from Stations 29, 59 and SMALS were alerted to the Chaptico Circle for a motor vehicle accident, reported vehicle overturned with entrapment.

Rescue 2, Engine 24, Rescue Engine 22, Utility 2, And Chief 2B responded on the incident. Engine 73 (filling in for Co. 5) made the response and advised fireboard to alert the next Squad in place of Squad 5, bringing Squad 1. Company 2 units arrived with Engine 73 to find a single vehicle, overturned into a sign with two occupants, unconscious, and trapped.

Units went to work stabilizing and beginning the extrication process. After access was gained to the patients it was found both patients were priority four.

The scene was then turned over to the Maryland State Police for the reconstruction process.
