At 0611 hours, RES2CUE was alerted to Point Lookout Road in the area of Pin Cushion Road for the motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment. Units from Station 1 were already enroute to a collision at the intersection when a second one occurred, where a vehicle overturned with reports of people pinned.

This additional information upgraded the assignment bringing RES2CUE additional BLS ambulances and SMALS. Chief 1 arrived on location with multiple vehicles involved, and assigned Squad 1 to the extrication group. Once a size up was completed, a total of five vehicles were involved between the two accidents. Four patients required transport.

RES2CUE handled the original accident and secured the vehicles and assisted EMS personnel.

All patients were transported to Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital and the rescue operated for thirty minutes.
