Monday evening is company training night for the Mechanicsville Volunteers. Over the past month the officers have been researching and building a man-in-machine kit to be carried on the Rescue. This kit is designed to carry a lot of small hand tools and some tools you don't see or use everyday. The kit is utilized on incidents that may require extraordinary care such as body entanglements, impalements, ring removals, torch operations and other tedious tasks.

The kit was finalized last week and training was completed tonight in order to place it in service. Four stations were set up for training, which included: torch review, arm entanglement, fence impalement, and ring removal. Crews worked at each station for about thirty minutes before rotating to the next.

Overall, a lot of valuable information and knowledge was passed along to the membership and the kit is now carried on Rescue Squad 2.
