Crews Respond to House Fire

At 1956 hours, Station 2 was alerted to a report of a house on fire on St. Clements Avenue in Station 1's first due.

Rescue Squad 2, Engine 24 and the Chief made the response with the rescue arriving on the scene and taking the first due special service duties. The crew opened up, placed lighting on all four sides and set up ventilation. The engine crew assisted with extinguishment and with extensive overhaul of the structure. Engine 24 was utilized in the water shuttle, where Water Supply 5 established a fill site at the St. Clements Shores boat ramp.

The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshals Office. The occupant of the residence was transported to Medstar St. Mary's Hospital for smoke inhalation.

Units operated for just over three hours on this incident and Chief 1 (Scully) held incident command.
