At 2350 hours, while Engine 23 was still investigating a commercial fire alarm activation, Companies 5, 1, 2, and 7, Truck 1, and EMS Stations 59 and 19 were alerted to 38242 Charles Hall Road in Avenue for a reported working garage fire.

Engine 23(Lt. Cox) cleared the alarm and responded along with Rescue 2(FF Wooddell) and Tanker 2 at dispatch. Chief 5 arrived first with a fully involved garage with extension into the residence. The crews from Companies 5 and 1 began a fire attack while Rescue 2 arrived and established RIT. The rescue was relieved of RIT duties and assisted with extinguishment and opened up to check for extension.

Engine 23's crew assisted with fire attack in the garage. Tanker 2 provided one load of water to the scene before being released.

Units operated for approximately one and half hours before returning to service.
