Fatal Accident on Budds Creek Road

At 0136 hours Rescue Squad 2, Paramedic Ambulance 297 and Charles EMS 15 were alerted to the area of 27969 Budds Creek Road for the motor vehicle accident reported one overturned.

Rescue Squad 2, Engine 21, and Fire Chief 2 responded at dispatch. As units were en route, Fireboard advised they were receiving reports of one not breathing and CPR being performed.

Units arrived on scene to find two vehicles involved confirming one overturned. Fire Chief 2 established the "Budds Creek Road Command" and advised firefighters were working a trauma code, requested a medevac for a second patient and he had another for check up.

After a valiant effort by fire and EMS personnel, the trauma code succumbed to their injuries, one patient was flown by Trooper 7 to Prince George's Trauma, and one patient signed a refusal of care.

Squad 2 remained on the scene to provide lighting for scene reconstruction.

Units operated for approximately 1.5 hours.
