RES2CUE Frees One in the 2-20

At 0536 hours, Rescue Company 2 was alerted to Asher Road in the area of Kelli Court for the motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment. Fireboard Communications advised of a single vehicle into a utility pole with confirmed entrapment as units went responding.

Rescue Squad 2 arrived to find a van that had run over an electrical box and was head on into a tree. Personnel confirmed a single occupant who was pinned. With this information, Fire Chief 2 established the "Asher Road Command" and scaled the incident back holding RES2CUE, Ambulance 298, Medic 5 and requested a medevac. Engine 21 was rerouted to the ball field in Country Lakes to set up the landing site.

The crew removed the driver and passenger doors as well as the steering wheel to free the occupant. Once free, EMS personnel continues patient care and met Trooper 7 who flew the patient to Prince George's General.

Units operated for forty-five minutes.
