At 1357 hours, Rescue Squad 2 was alerted to the area of the WAWA in Mechanicsville for the motor vehicle accident with injuries. Initial reports advised one into a tree.

The rescue arrived to find a single vehicle into a tree off Point Lookout Road with both occupants out. The crew secured the vehicle and began assessing the patients. Both patients were transported to Medstar St. Mary's Hospital by Ambulance 298 and Charles Ambulance 158.

Engine 23 remained on the scene while the rescue cleared to handle another accident off Three Notch Road.
