On Sunday, April 6th, Captain Krabbe, Lieutenant Bryant, Sergeant Raley, and Firefighter Blizek traveled to Indianapolis for the week to attend the worlds biggest firefighter training event and conference.

On Monday and Tuesday, the four members attended Hands-On-Training classes, which span from Man vs. Machinery, to Grain Bin Rescue, to Live Fire Drills. Our members participated in the following classes:
R.I.T. Combat Drills
Truck Company Essentials
Squad Company Fireground Operations
Conventional Forcible Entry
Man vs. Machinery

The members obtained a lot of tricks to the trade, and learned many new things.

On Wednesday through Friday the four members were still at it, this time with classroom lectures on various topics. Each member took approximately 5 classroom lectures, most of them were all different from the other. The members brought home a lot of good tips, tricks, and tools to share with other Mechanicsville Volunteers during training sessions.

The volunteers had a wonderful time, and look forward to attending again in 2015. We also would like to stress to our fellow brothers to try and attend this training event. You wont regret it.
