On Saturday, at 1215 hours, Engines 7, 1, 9, and 2, Truck 1, Water Supply 5, and EMS Units were sent to 42278 Riva Ridge Road, for a reported house fire.

Engine 24(Sgt. Barnes) and the Rescue(Sgt. Raley) went enroute at dispatch with 10. Company 7 units arrived finding a one story, single family with smoke showing, reporting an attic fire. The crews from the engine and rescue arrived moments behind the first and second due units and were assigned the Rapid Intervention Team.

The Rescue positioned on Side A, laddered side Alpha and Bravo (the rear was not accessible due to the construction of the house and terrain) and deployed quipment needed for the RIT Team.

Once the bulk of the fire was controlled, the RIT was dismissed and both crews were assigned to open up the structure and overhaul.

Both units operated for about an hour before returning to service.
