Serious Crash in the 2-09

At 1729 hours, crews were alerted to a motor vehicle accident, reported head-on, and serious in front of Mechanicsville Elementary School. Chief 2A, Rescue Engine 22(Sgt. Raley), and Engine 21(FF/EMT McHone) went enroute at dispatch.

Units arrived to find two vehicles, off the roadway with one that had sustained major damage. Crews went to work assesing the scene and the extent of injuries. Crews found two patients, one requiring a medevac and a gas leak from one of the vehicles.

Both patients were packaged and Trooper 7 flew one to Prince George's General while Charles Ambulance 27 took the other to Medstar St. Mary's Hospital.

Chief 2A held the "Three Notch Command" and units returned an hour later.

Rescue Engine 22 and Tower 9 were alerted back to the scene to assist with the reconstruction.
